Mandraki Marina - 3min walking
Developed by the Italians during the eve of the 20th century, the Marina is a perfect place for an evening stroll.
Where the Colossos once stood now the entrance to the Marina is adorned by statues of a male and female deer symbols of the island. The harbor with its millionaires' yachts, moored alongside quaint, old fishing boats is an unspoilt place, lined by seaside Cafes.
Mandraki is used by boats which leave here every day for short cruises to nearby islands and to bathing places on Rhodes. On the long breakwater front at Mandraki stand the three medieval windmills which ground the grain unloaded from merchant vessels in the harbor.
Medieval Town - 10min walking
An UNESCO World Heritage Site this is the most famous sight in Rhodes Island, the best kept medieval city in Europe.
The Order of St John of Jerusalem occupied Rhodes from 1309 to 1523 and set about transforming the city into a stronghold. It subsequently came under Turkish and Italian rule. With the Palace of the Grand Masters, the Great Hospital and the Street of the Knights, the Upper Town is one of the most beautiful urban ensembles of the Gothic period.
In the Lower Town, Gothic architecture coexists with mosques, public baths and other buildings dating from the Ottoman period.
Acropolis - 20min walking
The Acropolis of Rhodes is an acropolis dating from the Classical Greek period 3 kilometers from the centre of Rhodes.
The site consists of the "Temple of Apollo" below which is a stadium and a small theatre.
It is included in a large park, Monte Smith, named for English Napoleonic admiral William Sidney Smith.
